The short version

Who we are

Down The Stretch AI (“DTS,” “we,” “us,” “our”) operates downthestretch.ai and the race-day sheet service available through it. This policy applies to the website, the sheets, and our emails. Questions go to dts@downthestretch.ai.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Stripe collects and processes your card details directly. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers. We receive only a customer identifier, the last four digits, card brand, expiration, billing country and postal code, and transaction status. Stripe handles your information under its own privacy policy.

Information collected automatically

What we do not collect

We do not collect Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, bank account numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, or health information. We also do not collect any information about your wagering account, wagering activity, or wins and losses at any racebook or ADW. We have no visibility into whether or how you wager.

How we use information

We do not use your personal information to train our handicapping models. Those models are trained on horse-racing data, not customer data.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only as described here.

Advertising — the Meta Pixel

We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel on our site to measure ad performance and reach potential customers. The Pixel sends Meta information about your visit, including your IP address, browser and device data, pages viewed, and actions taken, which Meta may match to a Facebook or Instagram account.

Under California and several other state privacy laws, this counts as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and in some states as a “sale.” We do not receive money for it. You have the right to opt out, and we honor those requests from everyone regardless of where you live— see Your Choices below.

Other disclosures

We may disclose information to comply with law, subpoena, or valid legal process; to enforce our terms or protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users; to professional advisers under confidentiality; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you and the acquirer will remain bound by this policy or provide notice of any change.

Cookies and tracking

Your browser lets you block or delete cookies; blocking necessary cookies will break sign-in. Most browsers also offer a “Do Not Track” signal, which has no agreed standard and which we do not currently respond to.

Email

Transactional email— magic links, receipts, renewal notices, service alerts — is necessary to operate your account and is not marketing. You cannot unsubscribe from it while your account is active; close your account to stop it.

Marketing email— newsletters, new-feature and promotional messages — always includes an unsubscribe link, and we honor opt-outs promptly. You can also email dts@downthestretch.ai with “Unsubscribe” in the subject line.

Your choices and rights

Everyone, regardless of location, may ask us to:

To opt out of the Meta Pixel and advertising-related sharing: email dts@downthestretch.ai with “Opt out of ad sharing” in the subject line. You may also adjust ad settings directly with Meta at facebook.com/adpreferences.

How to make a request: email us from the address on your account. We verify you by confirming control of that email address, and will respond within 45 days(extendable once by another 45 days where permitted, with notice). We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights — your price and access will not change.

State-specific rights.Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have rights including access, correction, deletion, portability, and opting out of targeted advertising and of any “sale” or “sharing.” California residents may designate an authorized agent, and may request the categories of information collected, the sources, the business purpose, and the categories of recipients, all of which are described above. If you believe we have not resolved your request, you may appeal by replying to our response with “Appeal,” and may contact your state Attorney General.

Data retention

DataHow long
Account and email addressWhile your account is active, then 24 months, then deleted or anonymized
Purchase and transaction records7 years, as required for tax and accounting
Email engagement data24 months
Analytics dataPer provider defaults, in aggregate or de-identified form
Support correspondence24 months after resolution

We keep information longer where required by law or to establish or defend legal claims. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information except records we are legally required to keep, chiefly transaction records.

Security

We protect information with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest through our database provider, passwordless authentication that removes password-reuse risk, access controls limiting who can reach production data, and payment isolation — card data never touches our systems.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and any required regulator as the law requires.

Children

The service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, email dts@downthestretch.ai and we will delete it promptly.

Where your information is processed

We operate in the United States and our providers process information in the United States. The service is intended for U.S. users. If you access it from outside the United States, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from your own.

Third-party sites

Our site and emails may link elsewhere. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we do not operate. Please read their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will change the “Last updated” date, and for material changes we will notify you by email and by notice on the site at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after that means you accept the updated policy.
